Welcome to my week 1 predictions!
Magic Pool Vs. Brit Pool
This match is very interesting. Infact, aren't they all? Magic Pool has picked up Steve and Missy, missy being a good banker, and they have their originals: Chris, Joe & Ian for instance. They are very underestimated perhaps from what I've read from the other predictors. Magic Pool was the league to watch last season in UIC, which also had a 5v5 format. At that time though, they had Jason who left to BP, Mike who got boxed, and Dan that met the same fate by allowing Mike to play on his id, on cam. Brit Pool is considered one of the best leagues in GIT this season to many. While yes they raised their league activity and yes, they have more interleague players, but to be fair, they will have to play every one of them to be fair. It is really down to who calls the best players at the best time here. But I think MP will cause a big upset here and win this match by using their bt8/q wild card on Missy and probably the LP wildcard on Steve!
Prediction => Magic Pool wins 4-1
Straight Shots Vs. Extreme Cues
Another interesting match here, where a stronger league faces a more determined league. Straight Shots is well-known by everyone, they don't need any description. Extreme Cuez picked up a new captain: Ben, and a new co-captain: Duke. The interesting part in this match is that both leagues have something to prove. Straightshots, like I mentioned in my pre-season blog, has been called an aimer league in the past by several people. This will be the ultimate opportunaty for Nigel n Co. to prove they don't aim since GIT is all cam. On the other hand, Extreme Cues will look to reearning the respect of everyone by winning matches. I've known Paul for a rather long time and he's a nice guy with good pool skills. He will do his best to stay by his cvapt's and co-capt's side always to drag them to win easy matches. Though both leagues are very determined, only one will win tonight, and I put my money on Straight Shots.
Prediction => Straight Shots win 4-1
Money In The Bank Vs. Ultimate Outlaws
Like I said, I do not know much yet about Money In The Bank so they have a lot to prove this season in GIT, by of course winning matches and causing some unexpected upsets, like Pool Dragonz did Vs. Straight Shots last season in IPA. Ultimate Outlaws is improving day by day. They participate in every interleague there is right now. It's a piece of cake for them trying to find players for interleagues. Few weeks ago, we all knew Jordy would for sure play under UO, but since UO withdrew from WPC, we cannot tell what will happen. Besides, when I spoke to Jordy, he said he does not like Sunday interleagues. I do not know how they can do without Jordy. In the past, UO wasn't really the league to talk about, but little by little, they started earning some respect by demonstrating their amount of legit sportsmanship. Reb and Angel will try to win the matches, regardless having Jordy or not.
Prediction => Ultimate Outlaws win 4-1
Extreme Pool Competitors Vs. Operation Freeeeeeeeedom
These 2 teams met last week in an epic IPA match where none came at top. EPC won the first 3 games, only to be dissapointed by losing the other 3. Both leagues have their fair skills and their fair decent players. Jack has been working hard on helping his captain Timm on getting good players in his GIT team. From what I have been hearing, they are getting new all-star players in their team, in likes of Ant, Daru, Sean(lilsparky) and such. They have the players, but the only problem here will be getting them eligible seeing how the league is inactive. Freedom face the same weakness, that is getting people eligible. They have only a few players signed up and I heard 1 or 2 of the new predictors think Freedom will either suck or withdraw very soon in the season. Peter is not the type that gives up. He is ready to unleash everything he can in order to win, and if he loses, he slaps his next opponents even harder by giving them the match of their life. But looking at the odds here, I think EPC will come on top with 1 more win.
Prediction => Extreme Pool Competitors win 3-2
